RDL achieve FORS reaccreditation for 5th consecutive year

15 February 2017

In January 2017, RDL were audited by FORS (Fleet Operator recognition scheme) and again achieved FORS Bronze accreditation for the 5th successive year.

FORS have over 4,500 operators signed up and is recognised as the standard for safety, compliance and best practice throughout the UK. While the scheme is a National one, its importance for Transport for London (TFL) contractors and suppliers is where it is most widely recognised.

The FORS process of accreditation and continuous improvements make sound business sense. Achieving the accreditation provides our customers with further peace of mind that not only do we take compliance seriously, but that we have a strong commitment to high standards of road safety and accident reduction.

The accreditation is split into four main sections, these are Management, Vehicles, Drivers & Operations. Each element of the accreditation deals in areas you would typically expect, such as compliance, training and health & safety. However, FORS also extends its training to include key priority areas for RDL as a transport company: the environment and dealing with vulnerable road users (cyclists and pedestrians).

This award ensures that those customers using Rhys Davies Logistics for their deliveries are fully compliant with the latest legislation and best practice, as the fleet and its employees successfully meets the requirements of TfL’s ‘Safer Lorry Scheme’.

RDL successfully passed the audit with no Non-Conformances raised, and are now looking to build on our early success by beginning to work towards achieving our Silver accreditation. This will ensure that we continue to improve on our current systems and practices throughout the entire network.

Thank you to everyone who’s continued hard work and dedication helped to achieve the reaccreditation. Lets keep up the good work and momentum through the year.
